Yubune
Yubune
Stylish hotel and bathhouse open to all-comers
Inspired by floating bathhouses that were once seen on the rivers of Tokyo in samurai times, Yubune is a thoughtfully designed hotel and public bathhouse in Setoda on Ikuchijima Island.
At the heart of Yubune is its rejuvenating public bath, which uses locally sourced citrus fruits, such as the famed Setoda lemons, to create an aromatic and invigorating soak. These seasonal baths are a nod to the island’s rich agricultural heritage, offering a sensory experience that refreshes body and mind. The walls are decorated with tiled collages featuring the scenery and culinary bounty of the Seto Inland Sea. A sauna is also available for use. After a day of cycling, a soak in the bath at Yubune is the perfect way to relax sore muscles and recharge for your next journey.
The hotel features minimalist yet comfortable rooms, blending contemporary design with traditional Japanese touches. Meals are not provided at Yubune, but food purchased elsewhere can be returned to the rooms, and several restaurants and cafes are nearby.
