With the support of renowned architect Toyo Ito, to whose work a museum on the same island is dedicated, Omishima Winery transforms former citrus orchards, abandoned due to rural depopulation, into vineyards to help revitalize the island’s economy.
 
The winery takes pride in using locally grown grapes from the Setouchi region to craft unique wines that capture the essence of the island’s mild climate and rich soil. Omishima Minna no Ie, housed in a renovated former post office, dripping with retro vibes, a few meters of Omishima Brewery, offers visitors a delightful opportunity to discover their wines while exploring the Shimanami Kaido.
